An industrial style studio apartment designed as a part-time home for a young man. The apartment features one main room, a bathroom and a small walk-in closet. The design has an industrial appeal and a masculine vibe.
MAIN ROOM
The kitchen is designed to fit in a small niche in the main room. The cabinets go all the way up to the ceiling to make the best use of the small space. The kitchen features a small sink, an integrated mini fridge and integrated cooking appliances, as well as a built-in washer-dryer. The kitchen cabinets are set in natural oak and dark graphite color, and complete with black metal details – handles and shelf racks.
The main room features a sleeper sofa in dark grey, a set of two coffee tables, a wall-mounted dining table and a wall-mounted home office desk with open shelves all around.
The walls are set in white and dark grey interior paint, except for the feature wall behind the sofa which is set in white brick cladding. The floor is finished in oak colored laminate. Lighting options include a row of cylinder downlights and an industrial style flush mount above the sofa, as well as a pair of wall lights on the white brick wall.
CLOSET
The walk-in closet can be found behind a sliding pocket door. It is complete with a large wardrobe, a small dresser and a couple of wall shelves. There is also room on the wall to hang and neatly store a set of two folding chairs.
BATHROOM
The bathroom is set in white subway tiles with black grouts. The wall behind the wall-mount toilet is set on the other hand in wood patterned tiles. The floor is designed in monochromatic patchwork tiles. The shower cubicle features a shower tray of custom design in white engineered stone, as well as a clear glass screen with a sliding door. The walls outside the shower area are only partly set in subway tiles – the upper half is finished in moisture resistant dark grey paint. The drywall ceiling features recessed bathroom lights.
