A home remodel design proposal for a part of a small apartment including a kitchen, bathroom and hallway. The new design merges the small rooms into one larger and more functional interior space that accommodates a main entrance area, a living room and a kitchen with a dining area. The proposed design can be turned into reality on a low budget. Most furniture pieces and decorations can be easily bought ready-made at local stores. A few units are designed to be custom made – for example the kitchen, the fitted wardrobe and the hallway unit.
LIVING ROOM
The living room is small but it has all amenities such as a kitchen corner, a dining area and an entertainment area.
The kitchen cabinets and counters are set in taupe color and dark wood. The backsplash is designed with patchwork tiles. The kitchen is equipped with a large fridge and built-in oven, cooktop and extractor.
The dining area features a square table with a set of four chairs with chrome bases and upholstered seats. The entertainment area is designed with a small couch, an armchair and a set of three coffee tables.
Lighting options include a dandelion inspired chandelier in the living room, and recessed lights in the kitchen and dining area. The floor is set in laminate, and the walls are finished in two colors – taupe and white.
HALLWAY
The hallway features a fitted wardrobe and a custom design unit for coats and shoes. The fitted wardrobe can easily accommodate a water heater and a slim washing machine. The custom design unit features a coat rack, a shoe cabinet, a mirror, drawers and shelves.
The floor is tiled in beige, and the walls are designed in taupe paint. A drop ceiling is proposed with recessed lights in it.
BATHROOM
The bathroom features a toilet seat, a corner shower cubicle with sliding doors, as well as a vanity counter with sink and mirror. The walls are set in two types of tiles – plain beige tiles and patchwork tiles.
