KaRinna | Contemporary Home with a Traditional Feel

This interior design project is a partial renovation of a three-bedroom apartment, focusing on light cosmetic updates such as fresh wall finishes, refined lighting, and practical custom-built furniture. The main flooring and kitchen cabinetry have been preserved, blending naturally into the updated design concept. The overall aesthetic merges traditional elements with modern details, creating an elegant, cozy home with a timeless style.

Living Area

In the living area, the existing kitchen sits elegantly and unobtrusively in the corner. The adjacent wall in the dining zone features a decorative brick cladding, while the opposite side showcases a newly designed focal accent wall with graceful arched niches and open shelving.

The center of the room features a comfortable taupe sofa, a mustard-coloured armchair that commands attention as a bold accent, and dark green chairs paired with a round dining table that tie into the earthy color palette.

The lighting scheme is composed of a new accent chandelier over the dining table, a modern ceiling fixture above the sofa, discreet under-cabinet kitchen lighting, and surface-mounted spotlights focused on the decorative arched niches.

Master Bedroom

The master bedroom is designed as a peaceful retreat, featuring custom light-toned MDF cabinetry with paneled doors framing a dark green upholstered bed. The headboard wall highlights a delicate floral wallpaper framed by a decorative arch and wooden shelving.

Home Office

The study balances workspace functionality with a cozy relaxation area, centered around custom MDF cabinetry with solid and glass-front doors. Deep green lower units and light upper modules frame a wall covered in botanical wallpaper. The client’s existing dresser fits perfectly beside the workspace, while a comfortable sofa bed transforms the room into a versatile and stylish guest space.

Hallway

The entryway welcomes visitors with an immediate sense of space and light, created through bright wall finishes, discreet ceiling lighting, and elegant accents. A built-in MDF wardrobe with classic doors is paired with an accent wall featuring fine floral wallpaper, contrasted by a tall mirror with a slim gold frame. A sleek metal-legged console table and a refined bench complete the functionality while carrying through the apartment’s cohesive aesthetic.
